Ohio University Freshman Erin Schwenke, of Solon, Ohio, keeps possession of the ball from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne defender Ali Okihiro, of Ontario, Canada. Schwenke later went on to score a game-winning goal in the 87th minute of the game leaving the Bobcats ahead 3-2 on Sunday, September 20th, 2009. The next day Schwenke was crowned Mid-American Conference Player of the Week for her excellent skill in the last two games.

Schade went directly to O\'Bleness Memorial Hospital where he received 5 staples to close the wound. Schade made it back to the game but was not allowed to play.
